Managing visitation time over holidays
The month of July is full of fun holidays and events. There is the fourth of July and various week long city run events. Carnivals and street fairs are held, and there is so much to do. When kids are split in between their two parents it can be hard for both parents to get time to enjoy these things with their kids. Visitation times vary and are decided during the divorce and may not fall on certain holidays. This is unfortunate and can not be avoided. While you may not be able to spend the actual day with them you can still celebrate with them.
If you are not able to see your kids on the Fourth of July, you can hold your own Fourth of July celebration with them before or after. If you have any traditions you can do them with your kids. City fireworks are normally fired on the Fourth, but you can go buy some fireworks and have your own little firework show. If fireworks are not possible there are also sparklers or even simply getting some glow sticks. Have the kids make whatever they want with glow sticks: balls, bracelets, and necklaces are always very fun.
City celebration days are another fun activity that you can do with your children. If you miss the city festival where you live, do not worry there are plenty of others that you can go check out. Various cities hold their events the same week so search the internet and you can find the closest city celebration to you. These celebrations offer a wide range of activities that will suit any age. There are kiddie rides for younger kids, and more adventurous thrill rides for the older kids. Many also offer performances and fireworks shows that will make everyone happy.
