Remembering the good things during a divorce

The month of November usually makes everyone take a step back and take a good look at how their lives have been going so far. Reflecting on how this year has gone can be a hard thing to do, especially if you went through a divorce or are currently going through the process of getting one, with your Provo Divorce Attorney. While this may be something that has made your year difficult, it is important to remember while this year was hard you got through it. As you think back try to remember the small happy moments that happened. It could be something as simple as meeting an old friend for lunch or that one time you made your favorite cookies. 

 

Remembering these little moments can help remind you of all of the amazing things there are that make life better. These memories can also help you know that there are going to be more of these moments in your life. Moments when you are content and happy doing something you enjoy. Divorce can seem to put a shadow on your life, and life can become slightly sadder. These feelings are normal and it is ok to feel this way. 

 

A great way to be grateful this thanksgiving is making a gratitude journal. This does not have to be a major project, all you need is a notebook or the notes app on your phone and try to find something good that happened for each day of this month, or even just the week leading up to thanksgiving. Going through a divorce is hard, but finding joy in the little moments can help you remember that there are so many good things about life. It may take time but life does get better and getting through a divroce it is hard but you can do it.
