Types of Adoption

Adoption can be such a blessing for you and your family. Everyone who has adopted in the past has loved it but it may not be as easy as you think. It is important to know the different types of adoption. There are 4 different types of adoption and each involves different processes.

1. Adopting through the child welfare system. This is also known as foster care. This type of adoption involves adopting a child that is under the custody of the state. These kids are typically neglected and abandoned by their parents and because of this they go into foster care. When adopting this way you need to wait for the kids’ parents to terminate the parental rights. Then they can be adopted.

2. International adoption. This is when you adopt a child that is from a different county of the one you live in. Using permanent legal means you bring that child to your country to live with you permanently. Many families do this option to widen their search for an addition to their family. Other people want to provide an opportunity for kids in underdeveloped countries and poor families. This can be an expensive option though.

3. Private adoption. This can also be a very expensive option. This is done through a private agency and can be extremely expensive. For the mother giving birth this is a good option to voluntarily choose to create the adoption path for their child. ‘

4. Relatives or Kinship adoption. This is adoption by an immediate relative like a grandparent, aunt, uncle, or sibling. This is the very first type of adoption to consider for a kid.
